IPv6 protocol was proposed in 1998 to replace IPv4 and solve the
issues encountered in IPv4 networks but in spite of elapsing many
years from that date, still many security issues are not known or left
unsolved. |
| |
IPv6 Security Research Activities(IPv6SRA) have started its remarkable
activities since May 2011. the main purpose of this group is solving
security issues in IPv6 and contribute in transition from IPv4 to
IPv6. |

" SEND implementation" for Windows (WinSEND) |
| |
Windows SEcure Neighbor Discovery (WinSEND) implementation has been started in June 2011 as a response to lacks of SEND protocol for windows families.it is the first implementation of SEND for windows families. It has all functionality of send protocol such as CGA and signature generation and verification, sending and receiving the 5 kinds of NDP messages.
it is implemented based on RFC 3971,3972.
|
|
It provides both security and privacy in windows families. |

Won the first prize in 4th International IPv6 contest (Implementation category),2011

| |
Topic: Securing IPv6 Local Network with SEcure Neighbor Discovery (SEND): A combined theoretical and practical tutorial |
| |
Brief Description
This tutorial is an overview of SEcure Neighbor Discovery (SEND) and its functionalities to countermeasures the security vulnerabilities of IPv6 Neighbor Discovery Protocol (NDP). Through demonstrations the participant sees the attacks against NDP and deploys SEND to prevent these attacks. |
| |
Objectives
After attending this tutorial (the theoretical/ practical), the participant will be able to:
1. Understand Neighbor Discovery and its ICMPv6 messages
2. Understand StateLess Address Auto-Configuration (SLAAC)
3. Understand IPv6 Neighbor Discovery Protocol (NDP) threats
4. Generate set of attacks against NDP
5. Capture, analyze and react to NDP attacks
6. Understand Cryptographically Generated Addresses (CGA)
7. Understand SEcure Neighbor Discovery (SEND)
8. Deploy SEND to secure IPv6 local link network |
